YEAH!

I finally made it to YEAH! Burger, after months of hearing some really great things including the title of "Best Burger" which Bon Appetit Magazine recently bestowed upon this Westside eatery.   So on this cold December day, I decided to see what exactly "Best Burger" means.

Parking for YEAH! Burger is sparse in the front, especially since it shares space with Perrine's Wine Shop directly next door.  However, there is plentiful parking in the rear of the building along with a convenient rear entrance.  I utilized one of 2 reserved To-Go spots out front.  Inside, I proceeded all the way back to the ordering station, where I placed my order of one beef burger, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard, mayo and ketchup on a wheat bun with a side order of onion rings and some YEAH! dipping sauce which is a chipolte ranch flavored sauce.  The cashier was friendly and quick and I proceed to the To-Go area near the front door to wait for my order.

The kitchen is open and there is a nice counter for folks dining alone.  As I waited I noticed these burgers were BIG!  And with all the added toppings they were headed for HUMONGOUS!  Finally, my order was up and placed in a nice eco-friendly, grease absorbing brown paper bag.  Back at the office, I unwrapped my big, beautiful burger and took a bite.  Yum!  The meat was perfectly seasoned, though a little too pink for my taste but seeing as it's locally sourced and ground I ate without much trepidation.  The lettuce, tomato and pickles were all fresh and crisp and came together in a wonderful medley with the ketchup, mustard and mayo.  The onion rings were nicely battered though they barely survived the trip back to the office.  I would advise folks to eat them straight out of the fryer.  That said even though the batter began slipping off, the tasty chipolte ranch sauce, known as YEAH! sauce helped mitigate my predicament and was a wonderful accompaniment.  I may try it again with on a turkey burger as a condiment.

While this meal cost me about $10, the burger and onion rings were head and shoulders above your typical fast food and in my opinion has Flip Burger, another trendy burger joint, beat hands down.
