The Recipe

A friend asked me today for my recipe for fried green tomatoes and I had to admit they weren't actually fried, they were oven fried and in my opinion healthier,tastier and caused alot less mess.  Try my version and let me know.  Combine plain bread crumbs and your preferred spices (I used cayenne pepper, black pepper, garlic salt and Lowry's Seasoning Salt) in a shallow dish, pour about a 1/3 cup of milk in a small bowl. Slice up your green tomatoes.  Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray, dip the tomatoes in the milk and then the bread crumbs, place on cookie sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.  Serve with ranch dressing and enjoy!
